Monty is very proud of his mane, but when his vanity endangers his meerkat friends, he must choose between beauty and friendship. As with O'Neill's Oh Dear, Geoffrey! the illustrations are gorgeous -- rich and lively and eye-catching. The story itself is fun, too, with an important lesson about paying more attention to those who love you and less attention to looks.
