Once Wendy was an American girl, living with her parents in Maine.  Now she has been spirited away by her birthmother, her beloved Aunt Adrie, into the middle of Hitler’s Nazi Germany – and discovered that Adrie is a spy for Hitler.  Wendy tries to please her mother and be a good German citizen, but American upbringing gives her a bigger picture of life and she can not forget.  Her German Shepherd puppy gives her a little freedom and she meets Barrett, a blind young man whose Grandfather may have a way to help her get back to America.  Before that, however, she has survive the challenges inherent with daily life in Berlin.
