Absolutely Truly by Heather Vogel Frederick - - ADVISABLE

Frederick, Heather Vogel Absolutely Truly: A Pumpkin Falls Mystery, 355 pgs. Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers, 2014. $16.99.

Language: G (0 swears); Violence: PG; Mature Content: G.

After her military father is injured in Afghanistan, twelve-year-old Truly Lovejoy and her family move to New Hampshire to take over the family bookstore.  But when Truly finds a letter in a signed, first edition copy of Charlotte's Web, she and her new friends form the Pumpkin Falls Private Eyes and try to solve the mystery.

This sweet story of small-town life, friendship and what it means to be a family is engaging and fun. The many references to classic children's books (Owl Moon, Millions of Cats), and the trials of keeping a small town bookstore in business makes this a book-lovers delight.
