The Lost Planet by Rachel Searles - ADVISABLE

Searles, Rachel The Lost Planet, 372 p. Feiwel and Friends, 2014.  $16.  Language - G; Mature Content: G; Violence: PG (lots of danger and fighting, nothing too graphic).

Chase has no memory and only a cryptic message - “Guide the Star”.  He shouldn’t have been able to appear in side the protective perimeter around Parker’s home.  Only a few days alter, the two boys are on a interstellar run from beings who want to control them or kill - either options just fine.  A mysterious man who may be a traitor, an android programmed to protect Parker at all costs (maybe), a girl who only appears as a ghost-like dream and a wide cast of aliens and monsters.

Searles’ work is non-stop action and danger, with just enough pathos to let you feel Chase’s agony over his lost memories and his desire to find a place to belong.  A great first science fiction book for kids who are read for a true space-based adventure.
