Mice by Rose Fyleman - ADVISABLE

Fyleman, Rose  Mice  Illustrated by Lois Ehlert  Beach Lane books, 2012.  $16.99 PICTURE BOOK Content: G.

This is a simple children’s book about mice.  The narrator explains that not many people like mice, but that he thinks mice are nice.  They have white teeth, pink ears, long tails and no chins.  They go around the house eating things that they aren’t supposed to, but he thinks they are nice.  With a funny twist, through the illustrations it’s evident that the narrator is a cat.

The text has a rhyming feel to it with few words per page.  The illustrations are simple and adorable and like other Lois Ehlert books, some of the items pictured are labeled, like the ruler and the glue.  This is a fun simple story with a poetic feel that will keep any young reader entertained.

PRE-K - ADVISABLE.  Reviewer, C. Peterson.
