The Assassination Game by Alan Gratz - OPTIONAL

Gratz, Alan The Assassination Game (Starfleet Academy), 305 p. $8.  Language: PG-13 (25 swears, 0 ‘f’); Violence: PG (fighting); Mature Content: PG (references only);

Against his will, Bones has allowed Kirk to talk him into joining an illicit game of assassination – find your opponent alone and spork him, until there is only one person left.  Because of his penchant for trouble-making, however, Kirk has also found himself playing nanny to a visiting scientist – a Varkolak – who is also an enemy of the state – or least his race is.  When a mysterious someone really tries to assassinate the Varkolak, all signs point towards Bones and Kirk will do whatever he has to in order to prove his friend’s innocence.

Kirk is ever the trouble maker, and if you aren’t bothered by a little tweaking of friendships before the start of the movie, then these are much fun to read.
