The Marked by Inara Scott - ADVISABLE

Scott, Inara The Marked (Delacroix Academy #2), 320 p. Disney, 2011.  $17.  Violence:  PG (lots of fighting, minimal blood – off page death).

On the night of Dancia’s initiation into The Program at Delacroix Academy, the Academy is attacked by the Irin.  Who are they?  Dancia doesn’t really know, because Cam and Mr. Judan and the others are still keeping secrets.  Anna and Trevor don’t trust Dancia, because of her close connection with Jack – who left Delacroix and seems to be working at the forefront of the Irin.  If it comes down to a choice between Jack and Cam, who would Dancia really choose?  Someone would be more than happy to kill everyone at Delacroix – could it really be Jack?  Is there a deeper deception at play here?  Dancia is still willing to put her life on the line when it comes to protecting those she loves.

She’s a little bit whiny in this #2, but manages to extricate herself without becoming a fullfledged teenage drama queen.  I am now eagerly awaiting #3 – especially because Grandma seems to be hiding some really great secrets!
