Cute Eats Cute by C. B. Murphy - NO

Murphy, C.B. Cute Eats Cute, 234 pgs. North Star Press of St. Cloud, Inc., 2010. $14.95. Language-R (91 swears, 12 "f"s), Sexual Content-R; Violence-PG-13; You can always expect your life to go down hill when your parents ask you to call them by your first name and that has never been proved better than by Sam. His parents now are constantly fighting; fighting with each other and over who can win Sam's allegiance. Now his family is torn apart he can't seem to stop the crazy spiral of bad happenings from stopping. When the deer hunt comes; the entire reason for his family problems, he still doesn't know who's side he's on. So when a girl he's always liked asks him to come and sleep with her on the side that his mom supports, he can't really say no. I really liked this book because of the issues brought up in it. I can relate to Sam because he's caught between two things and doesn't know what one is right. I was impressed with how well both sides were shown in this story and how easily you could feel Sam's struggle to understand what one is the right option. However, I was disappointed that the author felt the need to have described sexual content. It kinda ruined the story. HS NO.Student Reviewer: KU
