The Sign of the Black Rock by Scott Chantler-ADVISABLE

Chantler, Scott. The Sign of the Black Rock, 112 pgs.  Kids Can Press, 2011.  $17.95. Sexual Content- G. Violence-G.  Language- G. Cover: “ Dessa, Topper, and Fisk continue their search for Greyfalcon in hopes that he will lead them to Dessa’s brother.  But a terrible storm drives the three thieves off the road.  Drenched, they take shelter at the Black Rock Inn- only to come face-to-face with their pursuer, Captain Drake.  The long night fills with near captures and narrow escapes.  And Dessa’s fate becomes entangled with those of the grasping innkeeper and his scarred, silent wife.  Is it possible that they hold a clue in Dessa’s quest to find her long-lost twin?” I liked this comic book.  It was in mid-evil times with a little fantasy added to it.  In the band, there is a giant and a dwarf and that was really funny.  Sometimes it was difficult to understand.  EL. Middle School. ADVISABLE.  Student reviewer: ML- age 12.
