Spellbound by Jacqueline West - ADVISABLE

West, Jacqueline Spellbound (The Books of Elsewhere), 293 p. Dial (Penguin), 2011.  $17.  Content: G.

Olive, 11, managed to defeat the evil Annabelle and buried her painting deep within the earth, but a chance conversation with the boy next door sends her in search of the McMartin’s spell book.  Maybe that way she can restore Morton and the others to their lives.  Against the urgings of the cats, she is relentless, boldly, unwisely, stepping straight into a trap.

Olive’s youth is readily apparent in book #2.  I kept wanting to yell at her and shake to make her stop being so foolish!
