Buglette, The Messy Sleeper by Bethanie Murguia- ESSENTIAL.

Murguia, Bethanie Deeney. Buglette, The Messy Sleeper, 32 pgs. Tricycle Press, 2011.  $15.99.

Inside cover: “Buglette is a tidy little bug.  But at night, her big dreams cause her to be the messiest sleeper in the family.  Each morning, Buglette wakes to twisted blankets, tossed pillows, and her head where her feet should be.  Will Buglette’s quirky sleeping habits cause trouble for her family?  Or will her big dreams help her to save the day?  This endearing story about being different, dreaming big, and learning to be brave will appeal to all sleepy little bugs, messy or not.”

This is such an adorable bed-time story!  The illustrations are bright, unique and incredible!  We want a little “Buglette” as a pet at our house!  The characters are charming.  The story is tender and exciting.  I can’t see any application to the classroom, but this book will be a treasured favorite for years to come.
