No Place Like Holmes by Jason Lethcoe - OPTIONAL

Lethcoe, Jason No Place Like Holmes, 288 p. Thomas Nelson, MAY 2011.  $9.99.  Content: G.  At first Griffin thinks that he has been sent to 221B Baker to live with his famous uncle, Sherlock Holmes, for the summer.  Instead, he finds out that 221 B is the home of his not-so-famous uncle, Rupert Snodgrass, a somewhat angry, thwarted private investigator who HATES living next to Holmes.  Trying to live under his uncles strict regulations, Griffin is still caught up in an investigation of the disappearance of a man whose wife says he was swallowed by the Loch Ness Monster.  Griffin may just be able to make himself useful and make peace with his prickly uncle.  I hope that Griffin and Rupert have more investigations up their sleeves – I enjoyed Griffin’s personality and Rupert’s mechanical constructs.  A little steampunk mystery for the tween crowd.  And it looks like #2 will out in December.  EL – OPTIONAL.  Cindy, Library Teacher
