A Touch of Mortal by Leah Clifford

A Touch MortalClifford, Leah, A Touch of Mortal. Pgs. 432. Language: R (105 swears, 67 “f”s), Violence: PG-13, Sexual Content: PG

Ignored by her parents and forgotten by her friends, Eden finds herself on a beach contemplating suicide until she meets Az, the boy of her dreams. Unbeknownst to her, however, Az is a half-fallen angel caught between heaven and hell. Holding onto heaven with the help of her friend, Gabriel. His archenemy, Luke is determined to drag him down to the fallen and is willing to torture Eden to do so. When an apparent tragedy breaks her spirit, Eden becomes a Sider, an undead non-survivor of suicide. Forced to wander the street of New York in Goth finery, spreading Chaos with her touch, things look grim for her. Not wanting to be a pawn in anyone’s game, she attempts to help failed teen suicides to become successful death. Will she find a way to control her powers and not become a member of the fallen? Will Az?

A confusing book with lots of plot holes, over melodramatic scenes, and inexplicable secrets. The characters are not developed well and the side character are not likable. The book could have potential, but the swears overpower and ruin the book. I would not recommend this book for school libraries. Public libraries is extremely optional. Public Only. NO.
