The Dead Boys by Royce Buckingham

Buckingham, Royce The Dead Boys, 201 p. G.P. Putnam’s (Penguin), 2010. $16.99.  Violence: PG.  Teddy Matthews, 12, does not like his new home – especially because he can’t seem to find any friends.  The few boys he does find are a bit strange – and Teddy seems to be in danger, but where is the source?  There’s no way it could be the menacing tree outside his window – could it? The mystery stretches back many years, through many disappearances.  Buckingham’s book reminds me of R.L. Stine – just enough creepy to keep it interesting.  EL, MS – OPTIONAL.  Cindy, Library Teacher
