McMullan, Margaret Sources of Light, 233 pages. Houghton Mifflin, 2010. 16.99. Language-PG (4 swears, 0 "F"), Sexual Content-G; Violence-G; In 1962 Sam move to Jackson Mississippi after her mom gets a job. Sam gets made fun of in her new school because all of the girls are wearing new dresses and bobby socks while she wears hand-me-downs that her cousin gave her. Sams mom's new friend Perry gives Sam a camera and Sam learns that taking pictures is really what she enjoys to do. I really liked reading this book and seeing Sam go through the ups and downs of life. I think this book is great because it is something that could happen to anyone. EL/MS- Advisable.
